Recently, we have received many inquiries from customers in coastal regions who are concerned about selecting a durable and reliable pickup canopy that can withstand humid, salty marine climates. Based on years of manufacturing experience and market feedback, we offer the following recommendations for customers in coastal areas:   1. Aluminum Canopy – Naturally Corrosion-Resistant​ Aluminum offers excellent natural rust resistance, along with being lightweight and strong, making it an ideal choice for coastal environments. Our aluminum canopy is built with a 2.8mm frame and 2.0mm door panels for enhanced durability, and undergoes automotive-grade electrophoretic coating and powder coating for added weather resistance, easily standing up to long-term exposure to sea air.   2. If Choosing a Steel Canopy, Pay Attention to Galvanization​ A standard steel canopy treated with electrophoretic and powder coating can pass 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray testing, which is sufficient for general use. However, for highly corrosive coastal conditions, we recommend a galvanized + electrophoretic + powder-coated steel canopy. The zinc layer forms a dense protective barrier on the steel surface, extending salt spray resistance to over 1,500 hours. This significantly prolongs the product’s service life in damp, salty environments—delaying potential rust from about 1 year to over 3 years compared to standard treatments.   3. Structural Sealing and Installation Are Also Key​ Beyond material and surface treatment, the sealing design of the canopy is crucial for waterproofing and rust prevention. Every MGK canopy undergoes rigorous fit testing, watertightness testing, and load testing​ before leaving the factory, ensuring it remains securely sealed under long-term vibration and weather exposure, preventing water ingress and internal corrosion.   MGK canopies have long been exported to coastal markets such as Europe, North America, Australia, and South America, with products proven in real-world conditions over many years.
